NorthWoods is blessed to provide boarding for your pawed family companion. While you are on vacation, your furry family addition gets a vacation of its own.

Dogs stay on a beautiful property with groomed walking trails and daily outdoor time. NorthWoods is able to accommodate dogs of all shapes and sizes, bringing the same passion and care to boarding guests as to the dogs in the program.

Training

Training opportunities are available whether you are welcoming a new puppy from NorthWoods, working with another breed, or needing more structure from your companion.

Head Start package

What puppies work on

The Head Start package is suited for puppies between 8 and 12 weeks of age, with a two-week training stay designed to build early confidence, household manners, and foundation obedience.

  • Basic commands: sit, down, leave it, bring it, off/no jumping, drop it, and trade
  • Leash walking and heeling foundations
  • Name recognition and recall
  • House breaking using bells
  • Crate training
  • Puppy Culture-based socialization with children, people, other dogs, and livestock including cattle, chickens, pigs, and horses
Board and train

Structure for growing puppies.

Board and training for puppies between 12 weeks and 8 months of age can encompass leash control, basic obedience, socialization, dog etiquette, and group class attendance.

  • Socialization outings can include parks, stores, towns, and veterinary offices
  • Behavior support can address barking, biting or mouthing, leash etiquette, social skills, chewing, potty training, recall, and separation anxiety
